Great British Menu 2012 is up and running and it is fair to say we have had some fireworks...

Alan Murchison was the undoubted star of Week 1, impressing the judges with his sophisticated dishes and steely competitiveness. You can view his profile and see some of his incredible recipes here.

In Week 2, it was the turn of Great British Chefs' Daniel Clifford to excel, scoring a perfect 10 for his sublime stuffed red mullet dish (pictured) - see the full recipe here.

Colin McGurran from Winteringham Fields was the victor of Week 3, earning credit from Great British Menu veteran Nigel Haworth and the judging panel for his brilliant menu.

Week 4 saw the battle of the two Chris', overseen by Great British Menu veteran, Richard Corrigan, with Chris Fearon eventually winning out.

The North West Heats took place in Week 5 where Great British Chefs' Simon Rogan competed against Johnnie Mountain and Aiden Byrne, Marcus Wareing was the judge/mentor. Both Simon and Marcus contributed recipes exclusively to our App, download it here.

Week 6 was the turn of London to be represented, with 2 Michelin starred chef Phil Howard eventually pipping Marcus McGuinness and Graham Garrett.

Week 7, the Welsh chefs competed to represent their country and Stephen Terry eventually won out against James Sommerin and Richard Davies

Week 8 and the final regional round where Nathan Outlaw pulled ahead of Paul Ainsworth and Simon Hulstone
