High dining: London in the Sky 2018

From 5–15 July, this pop-up restaurant takes people 100 feet into the air and serves them a meal prepared by some of the city’s top chefs. Take a look at who’s cooking and what to expect if you book a seat.

Head for heights? Appetite for adventure? Bored of clichéd restaurants which have the tired old trappings of floors, walls and a roof? Then make sure you’re in the capital this July, as London in the Sky returns for another year to dangle diners 100 feet in the air as they enjoy a one-off meal cooked by a leading chef.

From 5–15 July, three different tables – seating twenty-two diners each – will be lifted into the sky by cranes over the South Bank throughout the day. With unrivalled views of iconic London landmarks such as St Paul’s Cathedral and the Shard, this is a meal unlike any other. You will, of course, be safely strapped into your chair, allowing you to sit back, admire the views and be served fantastic food and drink for breakfast, brunch, lunch, high tea or dinner.

The line-up of chefs this year is one of the best yet, with each one taking over a table to serve their exclusive menu. There’s Pascal Aussignac from Club Gascon, Robin Gill of The Dairy and Lee Westcott, a chef who made his name at the celebrated Typing Room. They will be personally serving their menus on 6 and 13 July, but their expert team will be ensuring the quality is kept up to scratch on every other day.
