This beautifully boozy and festive mulled wine hot chocolate recipe is the perfect way to warm up over Christmas. Combining the red wine with the spices, citrus and chocolate results in a beautiful flavour that is nowhere near as rich as milk-based chocolate drinks.

This recipe is taken from Adventures with Chocolate by Paul A Young (£17.99, Kyle Books). Photography by Anders Schønnemann.
