Citrusade with mint and fresh ginger

This fresh and vibrant citrusade recipe is the perfect pick-me-up. Whole lemons, oranges and limes are blended together with a touch of ginger, sugar and water, then served over ice with a few sprigs of fresh mint and sliced fruit to garnish.

  • 1 handful of ice cubes, plus more as needed
  • 1 bunch of fresh mint, leaves picked
  • 1 lemon, sliced into rounds
  • 1 orange, sliced into rounds

Method

Begin by washing the lemons, orange and lime to remove any waxy coating. Trim off any stems then slice into chunks, removing any seeds in the process

Add to a blender along with the ginger, sugar and water, then blitz for a couple of minutes until smooth 

  • 5g of fresh ginger, peeled and chopped
  • 250g of caster sugar
  • 1l water

Strain the mix through a fine sieve, then taste and add additional sugar if desired

Serve in glasses over ice with the picked fresh mint leaves, sliced orange and sliced lemon
