Gin recipes

Gin could well be considered a national obsession - there’s just something about a nice gin and tonic on a rare sunny evening that manages to epitomise the better things in life. Gin is the drink that keeps on giving throughout the year though, with sloe gin proving an unbeatable cold-weather tipple.

Gin is not just great for the drinking, though - its unique juniper flavour is a delight when sneaked into a variety of dishes. This recipe collection shows off the variety of ways in which chefs have used gin in their cooking.

Dave Watts uses the punchy dryness of the drink to make gin-cured salmon, pairing the fish with a fierce wasabi emulsion. Marcus Wareing's gin and tonic granita is an unbeatable Summer recipe, perhaps even more refreshing than the original drink itself.

During colder weather, tuck into a dish laced with sloe gin, such as James Mackenzie's decadent chocolate, juniper and sloe gin pudding, served with a seasonal damson ice cream.
