Aldo Zilli

Aldo Zilli is an award-winning celebrity chef and restaurateur who specialises in Italian, vegetarian and seafood cuisine. One of nine children, he was born in the small seaside town of Alba Adriatica in the central Italian region of Abruzzo and first learnt Italian home cooking from his mother in Italy and catering college.

He was the founder and chef-patron of some of London’s most exciting and innovative restaurants, Signor Zilli, Zilli Fish, Zilli Green, Zilli Café and Zilli Bar. His Italian seafood restaurant, Zilli Fish, which was located on Brewer Street, was a Soho institution and welcomed customers for over 15 years until March 2012 when Aldo decided to hang up the chef’s whites and embark on pastures new.

Aldo has written 10 books including two autobiographies, ‘Being Zilli’ and ‘My Italian Country Childhood’, as well as various cook books, with his signature Italian recipes.

He is regularly in the media. For example, he recently did an exclusive with Hello! Magazine in August 2020 and also an OK! Mag exclusive in November 2019 (please see photos below). He was the special surprise guest in the recent final of BBC1's Celebrity MasterChef 2020. He gave each contestant a recipe of his to prepare.

Other recent TV appearances include ITV’s ‘John and Lisa's Weekend Kitchen’, ITV’s ‘This Morning’ & ‘Good Morning Britain’ & he was a winner on the most recent ‘Celebrity Hunted’ on Channel 4 at the end of 2019.

Aldo’s cooking demonstrations/masterclasses are very popular, both here in the UK & abroad. In recent times with the lockdown, Aldo has started an Italian takeaway & delivery service from his beautiful home in Surrey. He received council permission immediately & it is already a very successful family business, with his wife Nikki & his son & daughter involved. He has loved going back to basics & cooking in the kitchen again.
