Photo stories

We normally celebrate the beauty of food on the palate, but the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year Awards are about celebrating the aesthetics of food on camera. Food and drink is an integral part of all cultures around the world, providing moments of incredible beauty both artistically but also emotionally. It's something we can all relate to on some level, which makes it perfect fodder for photographers.

Every year, thousands upon thousands of amazing shots – from both professional and amateur photographers – are submitted to the Food Photographer of the Year Awards among various categories, and the winners never fail to amaze. This year's winner was Chinese photographer Jianhui Liao, who took home a prize pot of £5,000 for his stunning shot of people gathering around a cauldron of noodles at a celebration of the goddess Nuwa.
