The Great British Chefs Cookbook Club: June 2025

Welcome to the Great British Chefs Cookbook Club! Find out how it works, how to get involved and what prizes you can win.

Even with the vast number of recipes available on the internet these days, there’s nothing quite like leafing through a beautiful book full of recipes. It’s a medium that’s stronger than ever before, with cookbooks topping bestseller charts throughout the year. If you’re anything like us then you’ll have shelves upon shelves of them in your home – some kept in pristine condition, others earmarked, stained and scrawled over after years of use.

It’s this national love for cookbooks that has prompted us to start our very own cookbook club. Each month we’ll select a cookbook that we think stands out from the rest and ask you, the Great British Chefs community, to cook a recipe from it. We’ll publish a small selection of recipes on our site so, even if you don’t already have the book, you can still get involved and see how your cooking compares to everyone else’s. Apply to join the Facebook group here and take a look at this month's book (and recipes) below. We've also included the winning post from last month's book, as well as some of our other favourite entries.

Apply to join the Cookbook Club today!

Click here to apply to join our cookbook club, meet like-minded home cooks and share your creations for the chance to win prizes. Please make sure to answer the two simple introductory questions to speed up your application.

This month's cookbook is All Great British Chefs Cookbooks!

We are revisiting all of our in-house cookbooks this month!

We are so proud of our collection of books. They all demonstrate the core pillars of Great British chefs: cooking with seasonal ingredients at their prime, collaborating with the UK's best chefs, and developing recipes for you that are easy to follow and always work. We really hope you enjoy a little trip down memory lane with us this June.

You can find our cookbooks here, if you don't have them already.

Last month's winners

In May, you cooked dishes from Monsoon by Asma Khan! Huge congratulations to May's cookbook club winner Susannah who takes home a prize. Take a look at Susannah's entry below, as well as those from our runners up!

Susannah cooked several dishes from Monsoon: pickled carrots with garlic and chilli, Begali cabbage (using spring greens), (no aloo) gobi bhaji and omelette curry from Monsoon, and they all looked perfect. We bet your dinner parties are amazing!
Louise's husband described her fish kabab and white cabbage with tomato and cashew from Monsoon as 'stupendous' and we agree! This dish is a knock-out.
For throwback Thursday, Harriet cooked Braised egg tofu with mushrooms and sugar snaps from Agak Agak. We are not surprised to see this gem of a cookbook still featuring every Thursday. It's one of our favourite books of the year so far!
Jang JJ Kwon's First Class Railway Curry looks to die for. A really comforting dish bursting with flavour.
We loved the colours of Julie's matira curry (red watermelon curry). Just beautiful!
Kim's aubergine with poppy seeds is the perfect evening meal to share with family. Another real winner of a dish from Monsoon and wonderfully executed!
Diane pulled out all the stops with Jhal Farezi, Shadha Bamdhakopi and Bengali Aloo Posto. A dreamy combination of dishes!
Theresa's mutton curry looks absolutely mouthwatering. Stunning pops of colour in this flavourful dish.
Tracy made Chingri Dopiaza - prawns with double onions - another of our favourite dishes. These plump prawns look cooked to perfection!

Make sure you post photos along with commentary of the dishes you cook this month in our Facebook group to be in with the chance of winning.
