The menus are diverse yet strict in their adherence to the seasons, with plenty to satisfy lovers of meat and game, as well as pescatarians and vegetarians. There are flashes of innovation throughout but Rankin knows when to keep things simple, too.

The extensive refurbishment of the site on Don Street has totalled £1.4million and the project has brought together the finest talent from both home and abroad – the restaurant was designed by the renowned Martin Brudnizki. It may have taken 6 months to come to fruition, but once Ormer arrived it truly arrived - winning a Michelin star a few months after opening.
