First of all, we'd like to thank you for backing the first ever Great British Chefs cookbook (and if you were given a ticket to this cookalong as a gift, welcome!). We’ve been working non-stop to get the book ready for shipping in summer, so hang tight – it’ll be ready to occupy the prime position on your bookshelf in no time!

For this very special cookalong we’ve enlisted Michelin-starred chef Alfred Prasad as our host and have commissioned an exclusive recipe from him for Keralan goat ishtu, a traditional dish filled with the flavours of coconut, cassia, chilli and ginger. It tastes absolutely fantastic and, with Alfred’s expert help, you’ll be able to cook it to perfection in the comfort of your own home.

The recipe itself takes an hour and a half to cook, but Alfred will focus on the parts that require hands-on cooking, so you won’t be stuck watching the video for the full ninety minutes.
