As well as a selection of luxury meats and artisan cheeses (selected by Shaun Rankin himself from small-scale European suppliers), Don Street Deli boasts a bountiful selection of pastries, breads and cakes.
A range of luxury salads represent the main attraction of the lunchtime menu, with delights such as Roast pork belly with cider and apples, Poached salmon with pickled cucumber and Gnocchi with peas, roasted leeks and goat’s cheese also part of the delectable array. Flatbreads are prepared and made in front of your eyes and cooked in the burning heart of the deli - the large, wood-fire oven.
Prices are very reasonable, the fresh food geared towards St Helier’s discerning breakfast and lunchtime crowd. Free tastings are held regularly, where customers have the chance to meet producers. Alongside this, customers are able to try before they buy – exquisite meats such as Pata Negra Ham or quality deli products like Joe & Seph’s Popcorn are available to nibble at the counter.
Keeping with the home-cooked feel, a range of dishes are available to pre-order for customers to take home to enjoy for special suppers at home. More than anything, the deli is meant to run in synergy with Ormer - customers can purchase the wines from the restaurant’s outstanding cellar, while produce from the deli can be enjoyed in the restaurant’s heated al fresco area.
