Terms and conditions for Great British Chefs Experience Cards

 

These conditions apply to the Great British Chefs Experience Cards (“ECs”) available for purchase via our website www.greatbritishchefs.com. Purchase and/or use of an EC is conditional upon your full acceptance of these conditions. The term “you” in these terms includes both an EC’s original purchaser and any other user of an EC, unless the context requires otherwise. 

1 Experience Cards 

ECs entitle you to make a single booking for the particular experience identified and associated with that EC at the point of its purchase. Each EC is issued with a unique number (“ID”) which must be quoted whenever contacting us or our experience operators. You are responsible for keeping your EC and its ID safe and we will not be responsible if they are lost, stolen, damaged, destroyed or used without permission. 

2 Bookings 

Experiences are provided by a carefully selected range of third party providers (“experience operators”). Bookings must be made directly with the relevant experience operator via the venue contact details provided on our website. Please note that you will require your ID in order to complete a booking. All experiences are offered subject to availability and you are advised to book as early as possible. Please note that no Bookings will be accepted for a date later than the expiry date of your EC (being one year from date of purchase) Bookings are not confirmed until a confirmatory e-mail or letter is provided by the experience operator. We would strongly advise you not to make any travel or accommodation arrangements until such time as you receive your booking confirmation. 

3 Redemption 

ECs must be redeemed by placing a booking and undertaking your experience within twelve months of the date of purchase. ECs which are not used within twelve months are no longer valid and may not be used. ECs have no cash redemption value. We may at our sole discretion permit the redemption of an EC after its expiry date and may require the payment by you of a reasonable administration charge as a pre-condition of any such permission. 

4 Refunds 

You are entitled to claim a full refund at any time within seven working days, beginning on the day after delivery of the EC. To claim a refund, you must inform us in writing and must also immediately return the EC to us in its original condition, at your own cost and risk. If we do not receive the EC back from you, we may arrange for collection of the EC from you at your cost. Refunds can only be made to the original purchaser of the EC. No refund will be given once a booking has been made. 

5 Cancellation 

Subject to any minimum period of notice or other applicable terms and conditions advised to you by the experience operator when placing your booking, you may cancel or re-schedule a booking, subject to giving not less than 21 days notice to the experience operator. Where you validly cancel a booking, your EC will be re-credited with the amount paid for the relevant booking and may be redeemed again within its original redemption period subject to these conditions. 

If an experience operator requires to cancel your experience either before or on the day, for reasons beyond its control, the experience operator will contact you to re-arrange the booking for an alternative date. If the experience operator requires to stop offering the experience completely then we will offer you the opportunity to place an alternative booking for a different experience. We shall have no liability for any costs, including travel or accommodation costs, incurred by you as a result of any booking cancellation. 

These conditions apply to any replacement bookings or experiences. 

Where advertised elements of an experience, such as particular items of food or drink cannot be provided on the day, the experience operator shall have the right to make reasonable substitutions. 

6 Substitute Experiences 

Issued ECs are associated with a particular experience and do not entitle you to choose a substitute experience. However, we may at our sole discretion where so requested permit you to substitute an alternative experience from our wider range for the one originally associated with your EC. In such circumstances:

  • we shall be entitled to require as a pre-condition of substitution the payment by you of a reasonable administration fee and, where the price of the substitute experience (as at the date of substitution) is greater than the price paid for your EC, the difference; and
  • where the price of the substitute experience is less than the price of your EC, we will refund to you the difference.

7 Restrictions and accessibility 

Physical (e.g. age or weight) or medical restrictions may apply to certain experiences and you are responsible for ensuring that the experience is suitable for the intended participant before purchasing an EC for that experience. 

8 Complaints 

Both us and our experience operators are always keen to hear your feedback. Please raise any problems regarding your experience on the day with the experience operator where possible so that they can try and sort it out with you there and then. If having raised your concern with the experience operator and following their complaints procedure you are unable to resolve matters within fourteen days, please contact us at info@greatbritishchefs.com quoting your ID and we will attempt to resolve matters on your behalf with the experience operator. 

9 Experience descriptions 

Experience descriptions and other information, including photographs, provided on our website are provided to give an approximate idea of the experience only and do not form part of our contract. 

10 Prices 

The price of the ECs and our delivery charges will be as quoted on our site from time to time, except in cases of obvious error. In such cases, we do not have to provide the EC to you at the incorrect (lower) price. 

11 Changes to experiences and prices 

We reserve the right to revise the price of ECs from time to time. Price reductions and increases shall only apply to future purchases of ECs and you will not be entitled to a refund for existing ECs where the price of an EC is reduced after the date that the EC is purchased. Experiences may change or be withdrawn from time to time for reasons beyond our control. 

12 Our liability 

Our total liability to you in respect of any claims in connection with these conditions or an experience shall be limited to the price paid for the EC. 

Nothing in these conditions is intended to limit any rights you might have as a consumer under applicable local law or other statutory rights that may not be excluded nor in any way to exclude or to limit our liability to you for fraud or for any death or personal injury resulting from our negligence. 

13 Choice of law 

Contracts for the sale of products through our site are governed by English law and any legal action relating to our contracts may be brought in the English courts. 

14 Notices 

All notices given by you to us must be given to Great British Chefs Ltd at 72 Queens Head Street, London, N1 8NG or info@greatbritishchefs.com. We may give notice to you at either the email or postal address you provide to us when placing an order. 

15 Amendments to these conditions 

We reserve the right to make changes to these conditions at any time. The conditions in force at the time the EC was purchased from us will apply, unless any change to these conditions is required to be made by law or government authority, in which case it will apply to existing ECs. If any of these conditions is deemed invalid, void, or unenforceable it shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining conditions. 

16 Waiver 

If you breach these conditions and we take no action, we will still be entitled to use our rights and remedies in any other situation where you breach these conditions. 

17 Data Protection 

By agreeing to these terms you consent that we may process the personal information that we collect from you in accordance with our Privacy Policy. In particular, we may use information we hold about you for the purposes of providing our services to you, marketing our services to you and any other purposes indicated at the time we collect the relevant information. We may share information about you with our experience operators for the purpose of providing an experience and related administration.
